Pythian Sisters is the women's branch of the Knights of Pythias. All of the flagholders shown here were found in Maine where the organizations are still very popular today. [ I never did find out what the "magic wand" means on the Pythian Women's flagmarker, but I did find out that the intitials PLEF mean Purity, Love, Equality, and Fidelity.
