Many People have worked and will work on this project both in compiling
records in earlier times and then in reformatting those records. I am going
to list them here as well as I can and please let me know if others have
worked on these that I have missed.

Hi All,
This is what I found out today. The Woodlawn books start at 1927 and
go to 1993 plus there is a supplement that goes up to 1995. Nancy at Woodlawn
thinks that the people working on the books used their burial books
and may even had taken them home to use overnight or longer. She
says that she thinks that not very many burials could have been missed
because they record every burial in books just like they did a hundred
years ago. The books only have burial dates not death
dates. Bim VanEtten helped work on the 1927 to 1993 records
and when I see him again, maybe tomorrow I will ask him how they did it.
The microfilm at the library has records from 1888 to 1926. These are
the records Boyds worked on. There is a letter of explanation on where
they got their info. They said all the info came from one large ledger
with some omissions. Since these are all hand written some were unreadable.
They also said that some of the names looked like they were spelled phonectically
or by the way the clerk thought they should be spelled. They list the person's
name, death date, age and where they died.
Now on the same microfilm there are more Woodlawn records. These
records come from the ledger with the earliest records. These records,
I copied the A's and B's, have birth and death dates and places on
some. Parents or Kindred and cause of death on some. For just the
A's and B's there are about 120 names on 9 pages.
Ok one last thing. Nancy has a card file not too big with a list of
people buried in Woodlawn but place unknown. She says that I or anyone
can copy those records right there anytime. She is very willing to help
in any way. Ok I think I answered all the question.

Joyce,
I have attached a file of records from Woodlawn that I have finished.
This is the from the "Can't Locate" file. I have started to go thru their
main cards and will copy only the deaths that occurred from 1899
and before. I know that the records are done from 1888 to 1926 which
is what Pat is working on. After I typed some of them I contacted
Pat and had her check 4 of them that should have been in her records but
only 2 of them were there. So I decided to go with 1899 and under and edit
some of them out later if they are done. I have finished the A's so far.
I will type up a few sentences that you can include with the records I'm
sending you.
Sherry
Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY
The following records are from a separate file kept there called "Can't
Locate" file.
These are burials that are assumed to be at Woodlawn but their location
is unknown.
If anyone recognizes any names and knows where these people are buried
at Woodlawn they would love to know. The column with the heading "Home
of Last Residence" is the family the person was living with
when they died. I have know idea if the person was related to them or not
and was copied the exact way it says on card. I copied them to the
best of my ability but typing errors to occur. If you have any questions
you can call Nancy at Woodlawn 9-4 M-F at 607-732-0151

A couple of corrections you may want to make to Woodlawn Cem. Office
Recs.
Fitch, Daniel K. should be Fitch, Daniel Hollenbeck, i.e. H. not
K.
Fitch Allana (?) Wayman should be Fitch, Albina Wager.
Are there no age at death for the 1927-1993 dates? That's very
helpful in making a firm ID.
What a wonderful resource! Thank you.John T. Fitch
