John Mitchell was an early resident of the Southeast section of the Town of Erin.  His son, John C. Mitchell, operated the first tavern in the township.  the section was named Mitchell's Corners in honor of that family, and the cemetery continues to be known by that name, although located near the forks of the roads, now more familiarly known as "The
Forks."
This cemetery was read by James L. Smith in 1957.  I have not personally checked this cemetery but from what others have told me.  All the stones
are still there and some sites have new stones put there by families.  This information came from the Erin Historical Society records.
